Mission Statement
The Department of Statistics and the members of the Graduate Program in Statistics affirm and support each of our members, the members of the UC Davis campus and of the larger community. We strongly condemn any type of discrimination based on race, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic class, disability status, and religious belief. We are committed to providing an inclusive environment and climate that makes every member of the Department and the graduate program, every visitor, and everyone we interact with feel safe, welcome and embraced. Diversity is valued by us as a core component of a rich academic life that enhances our research, scholarship, teaching, the academic experience for all our students, and it enriches the overall experience of our entire community. The Department and the Graduate Program thus in particular strives to achieve a diverse and inclusive student body, faculty membership and staff membership that is representative of the demographics of the state of California.
